You know I have no idea what meaningful journaling is. In the end I set out to tell a story about US (my family and I) when I scrap a page. That isn't just about the journaling, it's about the whole page. The journaling is just there to sort of tie it all together (in case the viewer didn't get my abstract artistic message, lol.). The sad thing is, is that most of my pages do not have specific details on them, like which child, or where because I do not like the idea of posting specific detail for the public. (The same reason I won't post another person's child w/o permission.) So one day when my brain has completely left me, I will have no idea who I'm looking at. C'est la vie. |

I think this echoes a lot of what all of you have said but, For me - meaningful journaling is a struggle. But I think it means that when I look back at a page, the journaling tells me something that I almost forgot or liked being reminded of. Something beyond the photo. Something beyond generalizations. Something specific and detailed that brings me back. |
